The addition of self-serve pet baths to our physical stores is designed to relieve the stress of dog care at home, for those who want to take on the responsibility of grooming. We invite you to try our facilities and to remember a few guidelines to ensure your pet is clean, safe and happy.

When you and your dog arrive for their bath, your dog must be leashed for their safety. Our bath stations have hooks where you can secure your pet’s leash so they don’t try to escape and wander off into the store.

Before you bring your dog, however, it’s important to prep them so the wash experience is fully effective. Check your dog’s fur for things like matting and burrs. If your dog has fleas and/or has recently tangled with a skunk, we unfortunately cannot take them in the baths.

Care-A-Lot Pet Supply offers three different sizes of tubs, with stairs for easy access. Choose the right size for your dog and warm up the water first. Your dog definitely won’t want to get in the wash space when the water feels cold! When the water is at the right temperature, use the spray hose to thoroughly wet your dog’s coat before applying the shampoo. Depending on the thickness of their fur, you want to get in a good lather so they come out smelling fresh and clean. 

All of our stores offer earthbath products for your pet’s bath experience. earthbath shampoos and conditioners are paraben-free, cruelty-free, and smell great.

Afterward, rinse your pet’s fur until the shampoo is gone. Repeat this process with conditioner if needed. You don’t want any soap lingering in your dog’s coat when you’re done. Use the towels offered to dry your pets, making sure they are dry before you leave the store.
