Anglo-Francais de Petite Venerie
The Anglo-Francais de Petite Venerie (Small French-English Hound) has a moderate
head with a broad muzzle and flat occiput. The nose is usually black or brown and
the bridge of the nose is short. The lips extend over the lower jaw and give the
muzzle a somewhat square shape. The eyes are big, brown and dark. The neck is straight
with a slight dewlap. The legs of this breed are long and muscular. The long tail
tapers to a point and is carried cheerfully with a slight curve. Colors include
white-lemon or white-orange. The feet are fox-like, with hard, full pads.

Temperament

The Anglo-Francais is energetic and free-spirited. This breed is an obedient house
pet, but can be a little reserved. They usually get along well with children and
other dogs. At home, he is a docile, obedient, tidy and calm companion. On the hunt,
he is quick, courageous and tenacious.

|
The Anglo-Francais is easy to groom. Brush regularly with a firm bristle brush and

Origin
|
The Anglo-Francais Hound is the result of crossing English and French hounds during
the 16th century. During the late 19th century, these dogs became highly prized
as all-terrain, multi-purpose pack hounds that were used for hunting deer, fox and
wild boar. The Anglo-French Hounds come in a variety of coat colors and sizes. Today,
Anglo-French Hounds are used in most large game hunting packs.
