
At Care-A-Lot Pet Supply, our top priority is the health and well-being of our customers, staff, their families and pets. We pride ourselves on maintaining a clean environment to both work and shop through our daily practices and procedures. All locations and services use an EPA-registered disinfectant for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, to sanitize and disinfect high traffic areas and surfaces.
Safety Procedures for our Retail Stores:
• Per Executive Order 63 from the Governor of Virginia, and Executive Order 147 from the Governor of North Carolina, face coverings are required prior to entry into all Care-A-Lot Pet Supply facilities.
• Face masks have been provided to employees for optimal protection.
• Shopping carts, baskets, doors and handles, light switches, freezer doors and door handles, registers and keypads are sanitized multiple times each day.
• Restrooms are mopped and all surfaces wiped down multiple times each day.
• All sales floors are mopped and spot-cleaned with pet-friendly cleaners multiple times each day.
• Pet clean-up stations are fully stocked throughout each store with disinfectant, paper towels, pick-up bags, and motion-activated hand sanitizer dispensers.
• Computers, telephones and other communication devices are sanitized multiple times each day.
• Hand sanitizer is provided at every register for customers and employees to use.
• Plexiglass "sneeze-shields" have been installed throughout the stores.
• All employees understand the importance of cleanliness and follow strict guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
• All employees are screened before starting each shift.
• Seating in employee break rooms is limited and employees must practice social distancing while on break.
• Each location is equipped with a Temporal Artery Thermometer to help monitor the wellness of our associates.
• Signage for social distancing and proper hand-washing has been placed throughout the stores.
• Hours of operation have been modified to accommodate restocking and enhanced cleaning procedures.
• Until further notice we have canceled all of our in-store events.
Safety Procedures for our Daycare & Boarding Facilities:
Below are in addition to the safety procedures of our Retail Stores.
• Guest spaces, boarding kennels and play areas are thoroughly cleaned each day and are disinfected throughout the day.
• Additional “deep clean” days have been added to our weekly schedule. This covers all drains, kennels, floors and equipment.
Safety Procedures for our Grooming Salons:
Below are in addition to the safety procedures of our Retail Stores.
• Waiting areas and salons are cleaned multiple times each day.
• All equipment such as kennels, baths, grooming tools and grooming table are sterilized after each service.
Alternatives to In-Store Shopping:
We understand the importance of meeting your daily needs and provide additional services to help alleviate some of your worries.
• Curbside Pick-Up: Order online or over the phone (1-800-343-7680) and we’ll have your order ready for pick-up at one of our stores with this free curbside service.
• Local Home Delivery: Place an order and have it locally delivered (to select areas) quickly and conveniently to your front door. All orders of $49 or more will be delivered for free.
• Online Ordering: Delivery available to anywhere in the US. Shipping discounts are available for delivery to select East Coast states. We also offer Free Shipping on eligible purchases.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable shopping experience we will continue to refer to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention and other public health agencies to determine the safest course of action for everyone who enters our stores or facilities.
